After three years of industry showcases across Europe, L’eautelier will open its pioneering Seaweed Suite™ to the general public for the first time. The debut coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Young Algaeneers Symposium (26–29 May 2026, Wageningen, Netherlands), hosted at Wageningen University & Research, marking a milestone moment for algae-based innovation in hospitality.

For one day only, visitors will be able to experience – and purchase – one of the most comprehensive algae-based hospitality design concepts currently in development.

The installation will take place at Hotel Wander, which sponsors the Seaweed Suite™ through its Gold Botanic Loft Deluxe, serving as the setting for this public debut. The Seaweed Suite™ will be open from 10:00 to 22:00 to YAS participants, press, and the public, with dedicated media access from 10:00 to 11:00 and curated photo opportunities featuring algae-dyed linens, seaweed amenities, and algae-infused drinks.

A Regenerative Vision for Hospitality Design

The Seaweed Suite™ is a travelling pop-up concept currently touring international destinations, with a permanent installation in development in France. It aims to demonstrate how algae-based materials can transform hospitality experiences from the moment of arrival.

The concept responds to a key challenge in the hospitality sector: traditional hotel room renovations can generate significant waste, with case studies indicating over 700kg per room every 5–10 years, much of which ends up in landfill for extended periods. In contrast, the Seaweed Suite™ model generates approximately 5kg of waste, with remaining materials designed to be composted and reintegrated into natural cycles.

Morgan Ræ, Founder & Director of L’eautelier, highlighted the importance of this public milestone:

“We’ve spent three years validating the Seaweed Suite™ with hotels, designers, and sustainability experts. Now we’re ready to showcase how regenerative travel is accessible for all travellers. The cherry on top is that all of our solutions are available for purchase.”

Bridging Research and Real-World Application in Wageningen

Wageningen, widely recognised as a leading European hub for algae research, provides a symbolic setting for the installation. The showcase, held during the YAS anniversary edition, aims to connect academic innovation with real-world hospitality applications.

The Netherlands continues to play a central role in algae research, yet many consumers have limited exposure to bio-based materials in everyday environments. The Seaweed Suite™ seeks to bridge this “lab-to-lifestyle” gap by demonstrating applied regenerative design in a hospitality context.

Deveny van Laar of Hotel Wander commented:

“Hosting the Seaweed Suite™ in our Gold Botanic Loft Deluxe allows us to explore the future of materials. We are proud to provide the stage for L’eautelier to show that luxury and regeneration can coexist.”

Registration and Media Access

Registration is open to YAS attendees, press, and members of the public interested in experiencing the Seaweed Suite™. Secure your place here. Media representatives can request access, interviews, and high-resolution visual assets directly from the L’eautelier team.
