Since 1967, the annual celebrations of International Literacy Day (ILD) have taken place on 8 September around the world to remind policy-makers, practitioners, and the public of the critical importance of literacy for creating more literate, just, peaceful, and sustainable society. The theme this year is “Promoting literacy in the digital era.”
To celebrate International Literacy Day, members of the EU4Ocean Literature Group highlighted how books/games/literature can contribute to ocean literacy! The EU4Ocean Literature Group brings together members of the EU4Ocean Coalition who have written one or several books, are involved in different forms of literature for ocean literacy and/or have developed storytelling initiatives.
