Description
BlueMissionBANOS is coordinated by the SUBMARINER network, together with 16 other partners and supports the deployment of the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters within the Baltic and North Sea Lighthouse Area. Their goal is to inspire, engage and support politics, industry, science and civil society across our region in taking the necessary actions to reach the three key objectives of the Mission Ocean:
Protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity.
Prevent and eliminate pollution of our oceans, seas and waters.
Make the sustainable blue economy carbon-neutral and circular.
The Mission Arena in November in Gothenburg (Sweden) will provide a large-scale physical platform for actors to connect. Through a wide range of interactive sessions, workshops, pitching events, demonstrations and study visits, the Arena aims to:
Identify high potential innovations as well as still-existing innovation gaps.
Showcase approaches to turn the blue economy in the Baltic and North Sea more circular and carbon-neutral.
Provide concrete pathways to future Mission Ocean relevant actions in Norway (South), Sweden (West-South), Denmark (East) and Germany (Baltic).
All stakeholders active or interested in the Baltic and North Sea are welcome to join, contribute and engage with your projects/initiatives.
Registration and a call to apply to join the programme will be open soon. You already find more information here.
