The second edition of MonitorCH4 is set to take place this summer, once again bringing together the global community of operators, innovators, and regulators working to tackle one of the most pressing challenges in environmental compliance.

Taking place on 9 July 2026 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Bologna Spazio HERA, Viale C. Berti Pichat 2A, MonitorCH4 bills itself as the first exhibition event in the world dedicated to technologies for monitoring and reducing methane emissions. 

The event functions as an integrated ecosystem and strategic forum, enabling participants to showcase technologies applicable within the European regulatory framework, anticipate upcoming regulatory requirements, and share operational experience among operators, institutions, and international stakeholders. At its core, the event aims to connect those required to comply with EU regulations with the suppliers of technologies, services, and expertise that can help them do so. 

The 2026 edition marks a significant step forward in ambition. Progress in the implementation of EU Regulation 2024/1787 has made it essential to engage with the European and international landscape, and this year's programme reflects that by expanding its international reach. 

The event is built around three pillars. The exhibition is open to both technology and service providers and end users keen to explore new and innovative applications. The conference will offer a snapshot of how European regulation is being implemented, with contributions from institutions, associations, and industry operators. Completing the offering is the MonitorCH4 Catalogue: a curated collection of companies providing services and technologies for measuring and mitigating methane emissions, available in both Italian and English, continuously updated, and published online and in print. 

The event is organised by Amici della Terra, and follows a well-received inaugural edition in 2025. With methane emissions firmly in the regulatory spotlight across Europe, MonitorCH4 2026 looks set to be an essential gathering for anyone navigating the evolving landscape of emissions monitoring and reduction.
