The primary aims of the project are to provide technical assistance and support to Partner Countries in:
- Acquiring knowledge of Integrated Maritime Policy, both from the EU Member States and other countries, in particular on aspects such as governance, marine spatial planning, development of marine knowledge and marine and maritime research;
- Developing a strategic national approach, and where necessary a framework, to support the adoption of a national IMP; and
- Implementing coordinated actions and initiatives at a regional level which could be supported by the EU.
The IMP-MED Project organises the Regional Technical Workshops on Integrated Maritime Policy twice per year.
