Description
The EU4Ocean Coalition hosted an interactive event that connected Maritime Spatial Planning with ocean literacy, complementing the technical and policy-oriented discussions of the week. Bringing together experts, stakeholders, educators, and youth, the sessions showed how dialogue, co design, and informed societies can strengthen sustainable and inclusive maritime spatial planning across Europe.
The event opened with a networking lunch, followed by a panel discission featuring established MSP experts from policy, science, blue economy and sea‑basin perspectives, alongside youth representatives. Short interventions and an interactive Q&A will explore co‑design in biodiversity‑focused MSP, the role of MSP in securing the future for coming generations, and the importance of participation and ocean literacy.
After the panel discussion, we hosted a World Ocean Cafe, with stations in which participants engaged in direct dialogues with early‑career professionals and MSP experts, teachers and professionals and explored MSP through hands-on games, maps, and visual tools.
The event closed with a “Meet a Blue Expert” session, where Young Ocean Advocate Zachary Zeller hold an interview-style interaction with MSP expert Marta Pascual. You can find the webinar recording here.
