EU4Ocean at CMA Black Sea Stakeholders Conference

Under the theme “Regional Cooperation for a Thriving Black Sea: Coming Together for the Common Maritime Agenda,” the CMA Black Sea Stakeholders Conference provides a dynamic platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration among stakeholders working towards healthy marine ecosystems, sustainable economic growth, and increased investment in the region.

Within this context, the EU4Ocean Coalition is hosting a back-to-back event on 29 September 2026, as an interactive community space aimed at engaging both existing and prospective members of the Black Sea ocean literacy community. Through dialogue, networking and participatory activities, our event highlights regional experiences, foster exchange between stakeholders, and encourage new collaborations within the EU4Ocean communities. 

On 29 September, we will behosting the “Ocean Literacy for a Stronger Blue Economy in the Black Sea Region” panel discussion. This moderated panel is featuring representatives from Partners4Ocean and Youth4Ocean communities across the Black Sea region, sharing experiences, successful initiatives, challenges and opportunities for strengthening regional collaboration. Live polling throughout the session will gather participants' views on priorities, challenges, collaboration opportunities and future needs for the Black Sea. Results will be displayed in real time and used to stimulate discussion.

After that, our Ocean Literacy World Café will enableparticipants to rotate through three stations, each addressing topics of interest in the Black Sea: an interactive wall inviting participants to contribute ideas and commitments by responding to prompts about the Black Sea, a “What makes the Black Sea special?” game, followed by an interactive discussion, and a showcase of NEBS in the Black Sea region.

Our event will conclude with a Meet a Blue Expert session with a blue economy expert from the Black Sea region. 

On 30 September, EU4Ocean will take part in the 14:00-15:00 "A healthy and resilient Black Sea: science, planning and community action" session, in an effort to showcase how science, ecosystem-based management and citizen engagement support resilient marine ecosystems and sustainable decision-making. We will also be present in the Black Sea Solutions & Knowledge Corner, showcasing our work in the Black Sea region.
