This in-person event will be a cornerstone of Ocean Week 2024, focusing on inclusivity and the empowerment of youth and vulnerable groups within democratic and blue processes. The event will take place in the post-EU Elections environment and aligns with the 2024 Challenge of the Year theme, "Be a Blue Citizen: Ocean, Citizenship, and Democracy."

Building a common roadmap: workshop for ECOP and youth networks (invitation only)
This workshop brings together blue youth networks who share similar priorities and values. Discussions will be focusing on strengthening the participatory space for young people in international (e.g. UNOC) and EU “blue” democratic processes, while also addressing the need to diversify those spaces by making them more accessible to and empowering for marginalised groups. The final goal is to translate ideas into actionable proposals.
This event is reserved for nominated representatives from ECOP and youth networks working on ocean affairs. If you believe that another specific organisation or network should be invited, don’t hesitate to contact infoyouth4ocean-forum [dot] eu (info[at]youth4ocean-forum[dot]eu) with your request.
Interactive Panel and Workshop on Ocean Literacy, Democracy and Inclusion (open registration)

During the workshop, a diverse panel of experts from different fields and stakeholder groups will engage participants in interactive discussions, unpacking the issue and exploring how to embrace inclusion in ocean literacy and policy-making.
