The Joint Atlantic–WestMED Stakeholder Conference 2026 will bring together policymakers, public authorities, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, project promoters, NGOs, clusters, youth organisations, and blue economy stakeholders from across the Atlantic and Western Mediterranean regions. Taking place on 16 September 2026 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, the conference will provide a unique platform to strengthen cooperation between two major European sea basins, exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and develop solutions for a sustainable, resilient, and innovative blue economy.
Interactive Exchanges, Side Events and Recognition of Blue Economy Excellence
Ahead of the main conference, a series of (Interreg) back-to-back side events will take place on 15 September 2026, focusing on synergies between programmes, funding opportunities, youth engagement, and project development.
The main Atlantic-WestMED conference on 16 September will feature high-level discussions, thematic sessions, networking opportunities, project showcases, and interactive formats addressing shared priorities such as blue skills, coastal resilience, sustainable tourism, maritime connectivity, and decarbonisation.
A key highlight will be the presentation of the Atlantic–WestMED Project Awards 2026, recognising outstanding projects that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, impact, and replicable solutions for the blue economy. The awards will showcase successful initiatives across both sea basins and promote knowledge exchange, visibility, and cooperation among maritime communities.
Celebrating Innovation and Building Future Partnerships Across Sea Basins
The Joint Atlantic–WestMED Stakeholder Conference 2026 represents an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between the Atlantic Maritime Strategy and the WestMED Initiative. By connecting stakeholders, showcasing inspiring projects, and celebrating achievements through the Project Awards, the event will help transform shared challenges into concrete opportunities for cooperation and investment. Participants will have the opportunity to discover emerging initiatives, establish new partnerships, and contribute to a more sustainable, competitive, and connected maritime future across Europe’s Atlantic and Western Mediterranean regions.
