Bringing together stakeholders and experts within and beyond Europe for interactive dialogues on ocean challenges and governance solutions, the IOG Forum’s stakeholder conferences support the development of the EU’s International Ocean Governance agenda.

Due to COVID-19, the IOG Forum was virtually launched on 22-24 April 2020. You can watch the three Forum sessions below or skip to the opening remarks of EU Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevičius or UN Oceans Envoy Peter Thomson.

The second IOG Forum conference took place from 14-16 December 2020 in a virtual format, and included a high-level plenary and thematic workshops. More information can be found here.

The ideas sourced in the 2nd IOG Forum were translated into concrete IOG Agenda recommendations. The third IOG Forum, presenting these recommendations and the next steps for the IOG Agenda, took place on April 20, 2021; more info and recommendations available here.

International Ocean Governance Forum- Thematic Working Group webinars - April 22-24, 2020

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to change the format of the International Ocean Governance (IOG) Forum, originally scheduled for 22-24 April in Brussels. Ocean governance cannot wait for viruses to stop from spreading. To do justice to the importance of the subject, we didn’t cancel or postpone the meeting but partially moved to a digital format.

Start date: 22/04/2020 - 14:00
