Web-based public consultation on a ‘Policy framework on biobased, biodegradable and compostable plastics’ The consultation, organized by the Directorate-General for Environment, will provide insight for preparing a new policy framework applying to biobased, biodegradable and compostable plastics. The aim of the new framework - a key deliverable announced in the European Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan, is to address emerging sustainability challenges related to the use of the biobased, biodegradable and compostable plastics and to clarify their role in delivering on Commission’s commitments on a carbon neutral and circular economy.
