26 October Transforming plastic litter into new chemicals

The workshop will gather innovators, local and ports authorities, legislators and stakeholders, e.g. plastics association and fishers and vessels, to discuss the opportunities offered by pyrolysis plants to convert plastics waste into new chemicals. At the same, time the technical and legislative barriers that hinder the exploitation of this kind of technologies will be addressed. The workshop will tackle plastics coming from different waste streams, and will specifically focus on the use low temperature pyrolysis plants to treat marine litter.
