Supported by the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission, the EU4Ocean coalition will hold a virtual workshop

3 things you didn’t know about the EU4Ocean and Ocean Literacy in the Atlantic and North Sea basin

on 20th May 2021 from 13.15 till 14.35 CET.

The workshop is the first part of the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea basin event. It is held as a parallel stakeholder workshop at the European Maritime Day conference, taking place virtually from Den Helder, the Netherlands.

The workshop is designed for professional audiences and stakeholders as well as young people active or interested in advocacy and raising awareness of the importance of the ocean, marine resources and ocean science for the blue economy and sustainable development of the region.

The aim is to exchange good practice, foster partnerships and explore fresh ways of involving the audiences in this sea basin.

This online workshop will showcase the Ocean Literacy activities carried out by the EU4Ocean Coalition in the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea basin. Participants will be given the opportunity to join in and explore fresh ways of involving their audiences in this region through the #MakeEUBlue! campaign, dynamic pitches from Young Ocean Advocates and a lively participation of the Network of EU Blue Schools. They will discuss joint activities and common projects.

This workshop will also give a taster of the virtual Ocean Literacy Festival in the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea basin that will be held on 22 May as part of the European Maritime Day in My Country programme.
