First activities of the Blue Bioeconomy Forum

Set up of the Steering group and announcement of first working groups

Steering Group

The Blue Bioeconomy held its first Steering Group meeting on 21 May. In order to represent a wide range of interests in the blue bioeconomy, business, finance, research and (local) authorities, we have asked a range of prominent experts in this field to advise us in our activities. They will be providing us with advice and feedback throughout the project, particularly on the two main outcomes: a project portfolio/pipeline and a roadmap for the blue bioeconomy.

Our steering group members e.g. emphasized that the Forum should not only address the development of economic activity, but also target societal and environmental challenges related to the blue bioeconomy. The members also defined the initial topics of the working groups that will be further developed during our first workshop to be held in September 2018.
