The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Regional Stakeholder Conference on Blue Economy, an international event devoted to job creation and investment potential of blue economy in the Mediterranean basin (Naples, on November 29 & 30, 2017) gathered about 500 participants from 30 countries across the Euro-Mediterranean region, including governments’ representatives, regional and local authorities, international organisations and development agencies, 150 private sector representatives, universities, and civil society organisations dealing with marine and maritime issues.

Ifremer is heavily engaged in development and maintenance of the European Marine Observation and Data Network. They are also significant contributors to the Copernicus marine core service and data collection in fisheries. This is an opportunity to understand lessons of work done so far and to look at how the different programmes can work together to create a better understanding of the seas
