Maritime Surveillance Expert Group

The Member State Expert sub-Group (MSEsG) on Integration of maritime surveillance (IMS) is a Commission expert sub-Group to the Integrated Maritime Policy (IMP) Expert Group. It is composed of Member States experts. The MSEsG provides political guidance on IMS matters which concern 7 'functions': Safety and Security, Fisheries control, Environment, Border control, General law enforcement, Customs and Defence. Each Member State is invited to be represented at MSEsG meetings with three representatives: one from Defence and two from other functions. The MSEsG is chaired by the European Commission, represented by DG MARE.
