The 2nd EU Algae Awareness Summit will take place in Berlin, Germany, on 16–17 October 2025, organised under the European Commission’s algae flagship project EU4Algae, in close collaboration with DG MARE, CINEA, and with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
This event will bring together key stakeholders invited from across Europe’s algae and blue bioeconomy landscape – including national and regional authorities, researchers and innovators, working with both macro- and microalgae across sectors such as food, feed, cosmetics, and bioremediation.

Notably, the Summit will feature participation from the European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans and representatives of the German Federal Government, reflecting the growing political momentum behind algae’s role in Europe’s green and blue transitions.
Through expert panels, policy dialogue, and real-world success stories, the event aims to raise awareness of algae’s vast potential and inspire coordinated action under the EU Algae Initiative.
